Someone once said money (wealth) does not make a person happy, but it ranks somewhere up there close to oxygen. Although that thought might be humorous, it carries a level of truth with it, which most people cannot deny.
Have you ever taken notice, that no matter the occupation, “a business woman, a drug dealer, or even a president,” that eventually everyone seems to want and give to others, in spite of how they actually received the money in the first place! In its simplest explanation, this is a spiritual law, which is inherent in all of us. The need to give is universal and is greater in some but not as much in others. The most selfish person there is will eventually want to give something back, even after spending a lifetime of taking.
I can’t help but remember reading an article some time ago about a big drug cartel leader down in Columbia South America, who wanted to build a hospital. Rather he had that hospital built or not does not matter, but as you can see by his action, giving is not limited to just those that do good in manifesting their means. People still want to give back and add meaning to their lives (as in the case of the cartel leader down in Columbia). Others want to give because they want to add meaning to the lives of others first, therefore giving meaning to their own existence. It is a part of who we are.
